Contractor table saws are an ideal choice for home builders and professional woodworkers, as they have the power for handling most jobs the contractor will perform. Also, many modern saws feature mobility systems that make them easier to transport without compromising on stability. In our quest to find the best in this category, we came across many products with various features which were being offered by multiple manufacturers. In the end, only 10 of the best contractor table saws made the cut.
1. DEWALT DWE7491RS
The DWE7491RS Dewalt contractor table saw is a versatile machine powered by 15 amp 4800 RPM motor and features a large 26-1/4” X 22” table and 32-1/2” rip capacity, ripping 4 ft. x 8 ft. sheets. The 10” 24-tooth carbide blade delivers a cutting depth of 3-1/8” at 90 degrees and 2-1/4 at 45 degrees. The rack and pinion system of the rolling stand allows quick and accurate fence adjustments, and the dust collection port connects with the vacuum to take away the dust. The unit also features a miter gauge and push stick.
2. Bosch 4100-10
Made for heavy-duty cutting and woodworking, the popular Bosch contractor table saw offers mobility and accuracy with its 8” wheels, a large cutting surface area of 29”x32”x13.2”, a 10” carbide tip blade, and a ripping capacity of up to 25”. The 15 amp 4 HP motor deliver 3,650 RPM of speed. Other features of the 4100-10 include self-aligning square lock fence, miter gauge, riving knife, anti-kickback device, push stick, throat plate insert, and a 6” cord.
3. SKIL 3410-02
The SKIL 3410 features a heavy-duty steel folding stand for easy setup and storage and a 15 amp motor delivering 5000 RPM to the 10” carbide tooth blade. The 20”x26” table is extendable to 20” x 32”. Make cuts to a depth of 3-1/2” at 90 degrees and 2-1/2” at 45 degrees and bevel to an angle of up to 47 degrees. The self-aligning rip fence and the EZ view option improves the accuracy of the saw.
4. Craftsman Evolv 28461
In the category of the best table saw for the money, the Craftsman 28461 is an affordable saw featuring a large 25”x17” steel table, 24T carbide tip blade, miter gauge, rip fence and a 15 amp motor. A tool-free lever allows for easy repositioning of the spreader. The table saw has a cut depth of 3” at 90 degrees and 2-1/2” at 45 degrees. The unit also features and rack and pinion system for blade height control.
5. Hitachi C10RJ
The Hitachi job site table saw is equipped with 15 amp, 4500 RPM motor, telescoping table extension that allows for a ripping capacity of 35” to the right and 22” to the left, and a fold and roll stand that adds to the stability and portability of the machine. The 10” 40-T carbide tip blade stops within seconds with an electric brake. The table dimensions are 28-3/4″ x 22″, and the bevel range is up to 45 degrees with cut capacities of 3-1/8″ at 0 degrees and 2-1/4″ at 45 degrees. The saw also features an oversized power switch for immediate shutdown.
6. Makita 2705X1
The Makita contractor table saw has a large cutting capacity (4x material) and precise performance. The 10” 32T carbide tip blades are powered by a 15 amp 4800 RPM motor delivering a cut capacity of 3-5/8″ at 90° and 2-1/2″ at 45°. The 3/8”x3/4” t-slot miter gauge allows for precise size adjustment. The miter saw also features blade guard system, riving knife/spreader, adjustable dual side guards, anti-kickback pawls, and a stand with heavy duty wheels and powder-coated finish.
7. SawStop CNS175-TGP36
The 10” Sawstop contractor saw has a 36” gauge steel fence and a 1.75 HP motor. The cast iron table is 20″x 27″and the extension wings 12″x 27″ each. The left-tilting blade provides a cut depth of 3 1/8″ at 0 degrees and 2 1/4″ at 45°. The machine also features an electric skin detection safety system, aluminum brake, dust collection blade guard and a 4” dust port, and a mobile base for easy movement.
8. Shop Fox W1837
The Shop Fox W1837 is a hybrid saw that combines the features of a contractor saw with the capabilities of a cabinet saw. The 2 HP motor has 15 amps at 120V and 7.5 amps at 240V, and it rotates the 10” left tilt table blade at 3,450 RPM. The saw has a rip capacity of 30” right and 15” left and a cut capacity of 3-1/4″ at 90° and 2-1/4″ at 45°. The cast iron table measures 40-1/4″ x 27″. The unit also features a foot-operated mobility system, t-slot miter gauge, cast iron trunnions that improve absorption, the spreader and riving knife, a clear guard for added protection, anti-kickback pawls, and a dust port enclosed in the cabinet.
9. Delta 36-5000
The affordable 36-5000 Delta contractor table saw has a 10” 45 degree left tilt blade with a rip capacity of 30” right and 15” left and a cut-depth of 3-1/2″ at 90 degrees and 2-1/4″ at 45 degrees. The machine also features a 15 amp induction motor, 120V-240V, a 20“x27” table without extensions and 50”x27” with extensions, a tubular stand for added stability, a Biesemeyer fence having dual rip windows, and a 2-1/2″ hose dust port.
10. Powermatic 1791230K 64B
The Powermatic is one of the best contractor table saws on the market. It is fitted with a 1.75Hp 115V/230V motor and a 30” fence with a quick release riving knife that reduces kickback. The micro adjustment miter gauge has an extension plate, a rack pinion system for setting angles, and positive stops at various angles. There’s no need for dual blade wrenches with the 64B thanks to the arbor lock that’s accessed from above. The cast iron table has front edge bevel, and the stand has storage hooks for easy access to accessories.
